In the heart or out of it ?

Have you ever wondered if 'out of sight is out mind' or does 'absence make the heart grow fonder' ?

What do you think ?

Depends. For sure, a few thousdand kilometres can work as an amplifier of ones feelings.

The letters, the Xs the Os, the calls and the trembling of ones voice, the waiting, the missing each other, the imagination that beats any reality... What can be more romantic?

it depends on the person's closeness ,and also about the time interval ,if it's considerably a short time then it's the second saying ,if it was a LONG time then it'll eventually turn to be the first saying.

I think it always ends up 'out of mind' for men and 'fonder' for women - it's gender based. Unless the absence is related to a death, then there is mourning followed by resignation and then forgetting.

I used to say: ‘loin des yeux - loin du coeur’ but then I realized that I was a big fool...

shlemazl,

Answering your what can be more romantic is when you finally realize that the distance is just too much that you can't do it anymore.

I don't beleive that absence makes the heart grow fonder unless the distance is for a short time. But I also don't believe out of site out of mind.

I think it mostly depends on the relationship and like highlander said gender.

Out of site is NEVERout of mind when the relationship means anything to you.
